Dealin’ with Idiots | 2013 | NR | – 5.2.7
Absurdly competitive parents interact at a youth baseball league. A famous comedian decides to study the parents and coaches so he can come up with ideas for his next movie. With Jeff Garlin, Mindy Rickles, Dave Sheridan, Brad Morris, Bob Odenkirk, J.B. Smoove, Steve Agee, Fred Willard and Timothy Olyphant. Directed by Jeff Garlin. [1:23]

SEX/NUDITY 5 – We see what appears to be a sex-swing, with sexual toys on the ground next to the swing. As a man tours a house, we see a photograph of nude buttocks.
A man grabs a young woman by the buttocks, lifts her up and hugs her with her breasts next to his face. A man hugs several people, including a woman saying that he is going to “squeeze the lesbian out of her.”
We see a young woman wearing a bikini and holding her hand over her crotch (her cleavage and bare torso are seen). We see a shirtless man in a baseball stand and his bare chest is visible. A man is shirtless throughout the movie. Three men joke about the man’s near-constant shirtlessness, saying that the man is on the “skins” side of shirts vs. skins. We see people around a pool, and a man is shirtless and his bare chest and back are visible while two young women are shown wearing bikinis (their cleavage and bare torsos are visible). A man tells another man that he is not going to hug the man because he is “not wearing a shirt”; the man is shirtless and his bare chest and back are visible.
A young woman asks a man to participate in a podcast where he is “naked” and then offers that she and the man could have sex. A man makes advances toward a woman, implying that he wants to go to “home base.” A woman asks a man, in a crowd of people, if she is going to be asked to take her top off for a movie, implying that she had previously been nude in a movie. A man tells another man that he is attracted to a young woman (the man’s child’s nanny) and he responds angrily saying that he is not sexually attracted to the young woman because she is his employee. A man tells another man that he enjoys looking at a young woman; we see the young woman wearing a tank top (no nudity is visible) and the man makes comments about being attracted to her. A man tells another man that he sexually climaxes on a baseball field at night. A man tells two people that they should be having sex. A woman tells a group of people that she had “many hands” shoved down her throat, implying it was in a sexual manner. A man makes a crude joke about how he is going to “give it” to a young woman. A man makes a crude joke that people should not say “Get it up” at children’s baseball games. A woman jokes that her wife is trying to “turn” their son gay.

VIOLENCE/GORE 2 – A man tries to grab another man running around a baseball diamond, who shoves him and continues running while two men and a woman shout at the man running around.
A man shouts at another man, the man grabs the man and shoves him against a fence, and then hugs him; the man continues to circle a baseball diamond and shouts at people, then goes to hug a man in a wheelchair with a cast, and the man shoves the other man to the ground.
A man shouts at a boy playing sports and the man is ejected from the game by an umpire; the two men shout at each other and a third man approaches and tells the man to leave, the man shouts that the man cannot touch him. A group of men and women shout at a man. A man tells another man a complex story about his brother in an angry manner. A man has a subscription to “Soldier of Fortune” magazine that he hides from his wife; another man shouts out loud that the man has a subscription to “Soldier of Fortune” magazine, but there is no explanation what the magazine is. A man tells another man that he throws baseballs purposely at his son while they’re practicing. A man dramatically tells another man that his wife would “kill him” if he knew that the man was getting a magazine, and a third man chimes in that the man’s wife would “kill him.” A woman tells another woman sarcastically that when she and her wife adopted a child, the child was “eating dirt off the floor.” A man tells two other men that he is training a team of boys’ “bowels and bladders” during practice. A man crudely tells another man that he does not want people to use his bathroom, so he has a port-a-potty at his home.
A man accidentally runs his wheelchair into a chain link fence; he is unharmed. A man spits out sunflower seed hulls. Two men spit on the ground.

LANGUAGE 7 – About 21 F-words and its derivatives, 11 sexual references, 7 scatological terms (2 mild), 9 anatomical terms, 5 mild obscenities, name-calling (bat [scatological term deleted] crazy, idiot, these people, insane, weird, Orson Welles, a sincere man but a little bit off, jack [anatomical term deleted], swimming-fearing, copy-making, brother fearing), 1 religious profanity (Swear to God), 9 religious exclamations (e.g. Oh my God, God, Oh Dear God, Dear God).

SUBSTANCE USE – A man jokes that he calls a young woman “tipsy” and we see her stand up and stumble, and we see bottles of beer next to two young women.

MESSAGE – Parental involvement in their children’s sports can occasionally be ridiculous.

CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
